What is the difference between a tilt-up door and a sectional door?

Tilt garage doors are 1 solid panel door that pushes outwards and slides up and back along the ceiling. Sectional garage doors consist of 4 or 5 sections to allow the garage door to move up and slide along the ceiling.

When the door is in the closed position, they can look very similar.

How does a tilt-up garage door work?

Lifting the tilt garage door leads to the contraction of the springs at the top of the door, to pull the door up and into the building.
Tilt doors use two spring hinges to support opening and closing: Jamb hinge: It is lighter and allows the door to protrude out to up to half its length.
